My students can benefit greatly from learning how to discuss current events, support their opinion with facts, listen to another's belief and properly discuss each. My students will benefit through these magazines by learning to have open discussions and keeping their emotions and behaviors in check.
Since a major part of why my students are at my school is because they have crossed boundaries with behaviors and emotions becoming aggressive toward others, it is imperative that they learn how to debate, discuss, and determine level of emotional involvement as they converse with others.
Students will read the material as a group and then we will discuss the material. Students may be on sides if it is a debatable article. Students will research facts and formulate opinions to help support their ideas.
