This year is going to be very different for all my students, because of the COVID-19 pandemic. They will start the year at home, learning virtually, and hopefully return to school later in the year.
My goal is to provide them with musical instruments to enhance their musical learning and create a joyful time of experiencing music. Most of my students could not afford to purchase the musical instruments and tools we use in the classroom. By providing them lummi sticks, scarves, cups, craft sticks, and recorders you will make it possible for them to play steady beat, show beat and tempo, see and hear sound vibrations, learn and play rhythmic patterns, and learn to play recorder.
I will very much miss not seeing my students in person, but am looking forward, with your help, to making music a dynamic, hands-on, enjoyable experience where they are able to express themselves and learn through music. Thank you so much for your help in creating a meaningful and AWESOME music year for my elementary students-all 500 of them!
