This iPad and stylus will allow me to make the instructional videos my students need. My students need me to teach them math whether they are at home, in my classroom or a mix of both. By creating instructional videos explaining the new skills, students can stay on pace and connect to me wherever they are learning. Students will hear my voice and see my writing as I coach them through new skills, and I can adjust my instruction to the specific needs of the students in my class. My time in class with students this year is extra precious, so I want to create instructional videos so they can continue to learn when we are apart and our time together can be spent working, growing, and answering questions. When we are together in class or in a video meeting, I can provide support and coaching, instead of just a one-way lecture. My math team is excited this year to implement a Modern Classroom blended learning model, which helps kids to manage their own learning, pace their work, and show true mastery of skills. I love this method because it is resilient and flexible, no matter what learning situation this year throws at us. We are asking our kids to grow and change, as their teachers are growing and changing our instruction. It is vital that we adapt our practices to meet the needs of our students.
