I teach advanced middle school math at an all girls college preparatory school in Houston, TX. This year specifically, I will be teaching sixth grade. This class will simultaneously cover 6th and 7th grade TEKS, and we are in need of learning materials and seating equipment for the classroom.
The materials will help my students discover more ways to focus and learn in a manner that works best for them. I am creating a classroom with flexible seating to allow freedom of choice, community building and a comfortable space for these young ladies to grow and learn together.
I am starting from scratch, as I transferred from out of state, so many of my previous teaching materials and manipulatives were left at my old school. However, I want to be able to provide the same, if not a better, learning experience for the girls this school year and for the future.
