These new and exciting items will allow me to be able to better differentiate my instruction to the diverse learners in our classroom.
I have many students with autism and other sensory issues and the calming ball, sensory cards, visual schedule, wands, Play-Doh, and paints will provide great opportunities for sensory exploration. The counting set and pre-writing books are great fine motor activities for my students as well. The headphones will help a few of my students to muffle the noise, music, etc. in the classroom as well. These items will be used as parent supports, small group activities as well as for 1:1 individualized instruction.
The wagon will specifically allow some of our students to physically be able to explore the building and outdoor area and be able to engage more comfortably with their same age, typically developing peers. Lastly...the Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will allow me to provide my students with individualized visual schedules, social stories and various assessment tools I can use to track their progress. These kids are so deserving and I can't wait to share these items with them and see the looks on their faces!
