Each week, my students will receive the gift of a new magazine that will build literacy while teaching them about the world around them.
When they have a spare minute, their nose is in a book. However, most of them choose to read fiction because that is what I prominently have in my classroom. I would love to have more informational texts in my classroom. TIME For Kids is a popular magazine that is full of informational articles. These high-interest informational magazines are full of academic and domain-specific vocabulary that my students need. TIME for Kids covers many topics including finical literacy, the arts, environmental education, and politics.
