Our school has approximately 500 students and we are fortunate to have an art program as part of our curriculum. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, I have had to convert to online art class instruction so students may continue to participate in various art activities. When planning these activities, I keep in mind to use very basic art supplies such as crayons, markers, watercolors, colored pencils, pencils, glue, paper, and recyclable items. With that said, I have found that many of my students are in need of watercolors to participate in my art activities. By having watercolors, students are able to work on a variety of paint projects that will spark their imagination and creativity. Art enhances critical thinking skills which carries over to other subject areas. It also exposes students to a variety of cultures and it serves as an outlet to reduce stress and anxiety. With your donation, I will be able to distribute the watercolors to all of my students so we may continue to learn and to create together.
