We will be exploring using value and texture in our drawings this year. My budding little artists find this skill difficult and go through many pencils, erasers, and paper but their beaming little faces when they finally grasp this skill is worth every item. I have watched students go from simple line drawings to fabulous three-dimensional work.
I will be venturing out to try something new with students this year into the art of quilling: rolling paper into designs. We will first learn the skill of rolling and shaping the paper. Then we will put the shapes together to create scenes, animals and creative projects.
