This project will supply hands-on-equipment for every student in every lab activity. That's what I'm trying to get to. My classes are around 40 students and I've run into situations where I just don't have enough equipment to go around.
More meter sticks and graduated cylinders will certainly help me reduce the size of each lab group, and give each student more opportunity to use necessary equipment during hands-on activity.
For example, today I was doing a lab where students would need to measure distances outdoors and calculate speed. The activity was designed for groups of three students, but I didn't have enough meter sticks, so I had to increase my group size.
