As a Speech Therapist, best therapy practices as well as creativity are key. This previous and upcoming school year has definitely challenged creativity with virtual sessions. The items I am requesting can be used in both virtual and in-person therapy (which I hopes happens soon, I miss my kiddos)! PLAY is important, whether virtual or in person it is a natural setting for language development. Play for a speech and language therapist is an opportunity to increase expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language development. Skills such as turn taking, matching, following directions, imitation, asking/answering questions and more are developed when using play. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card and the OSMO will allow me to purchase various materials to create interactive "play" lessons to continue to develop language skills.
