My students will use the requested materials when I visit different classrooms in each grade level. Every child will have their own device. In between visits the tablets and cases will be wiped cleaned and sanitized. Due to the large number of students that have elected for e-learning all the school laptops are checked out to those families. This leaves no laptops for classroom use for our face to face learners who I will be serving. Students need to be prepared for possibly pivoting to e-learning themselves. The in-class practice on the tablets with programs such as Seesaw, Google Classroom, or Schoology will help them to be prepared if this occurs. Their ability to become familiar with these programs will not only take the stress off the students, but their families as well.
Having access to a digital classroom with a Kindle Fire, will help my students grow as digital learners. These tablets will allow my students the opportunity to build necessary literacy and math skills as well. There are many apps on the Kindles that my ESE Inclusion students can utilize. One example are Tiggly apps. There are many math and reading games that are not only interactive but engaging. The math games can help with addition, subtraction and number recognition. The reading games reinforce vowels, spelling patterns, vocabulary, and sight words. There are also tactile apps that reinforce handwriting as well. The possibilities are endless when it comes to various apps that can be used with the Kindle. They will also be able to use the tablets to take Accelerated Reader quizzes and earn reading points for prizes. Kindles are easy to use and fun to incorporate into the daily routine. I need YOUR assistance to make this happen! Please help my students become successful digital learners!
