I would like to provide my special needs students with a dramatic play area in order to help promote socialization and appropriate play. This year we are getting a brand new classroom and I would love to incorporate a dramatic play area equipped with a play kitchen, small table, and bookshelves to bring the whole area together. My hope is to be able to integrate social skills in with social play in order to help students interact with their same age peers as well as support them in learning how to appropriately play with age-appropriate toys. My students are very curious and love exploring their environment. Because I get to teach my students for up to three years, I want to create a fun and inclusive environment that results in an incentive to want to come to school and learn.
