Having a variety of fun books at home for students to choose from will get them excited about learning to read. Building students' home libraries offers an alternative to learning via a screen. Young learners need to be exposed to physical books in addition to online resources. This project will give students the opportunity to have a variety of books to read at home with their parents. Early readers need to have adults model language for them and having Spanish language books is necessary for my students to become successful readers while we are in a virtual learning setting.
Early learners especially need more time engaging with physical texts rather than reading on a computer. These books will allow learning to happen in a developmentally appropriate way.
