The students, at Leslie County High School, are among the brightest, and most dedicated groups of young men and women. However, the majority of them have had very little exposure to any of the Essential 8 Technologies. No opportunity to learn about drones, artificial intelligence, virtual reality, or 3-D printing. I'm sure they will be eager to participate in engaging, hands-on applications that will support learning in other content areas as well. The students will visit the USA Drone Port, the National Unmanned Robotic Research and Development Center located in Hazard, KY. They will see how drones are used for local search and rescue missions and maybe the possibility of becoming a skilled drone pilot. The students will explore the areas of Robotics, Circuits, Virtual Reality, Engineering Design, and 3D Printing. This innovation lab will open their eyes to new possibilities!
