My students will have an opportunity to participate in STEAM learning with LEGO® Education. LEGO® Education is teaming up with NASA and the Artemis I team to bring students and teachers an out-of-this-world STEAM learning series. Build to Launch is an exploration of the technology, STEAM concepts, and careers behind the Artemis I mission to the Moon.
They will participate in a 10-week interactive digital learning adventure where my students will find themselves in the shoes of NASA engineers, scientists, and astronauts! Through open-ended lessons, my students will get hands-on and solve similar problems the Artemis I team faces as they build towards launch.
This project will help fund LEGO sets for each of my students to use as they work through the interactive lessons. These lessons will require my students to define problems, plan and carry out investigations, develop and use models, design models based on set criteria, evaluate their design solution and test out their designs, and communicate the best-fit solutions to the problem, along with many other skills. These are important 21st Century skills that are important for my students as they grow as learners. It is never too early to begin preparing them to be college and career-ready!
