The sport is called sport stacking and uses 12 specially designed cups. I have been doing sport stacking in my physical education classes for over 20 years. This is my first year at TRES, and they have never been exposed to sport stacking.
It improves hand-eye coordination, quickness, and ambidexterity along with cardiovascular fitness. Sport stacking also helps develop bilateral proficiency which is equal performance on both sides of the body. Sequencing and patterning are also elements of sport stacking, which can help with reading and math skills. After students learn the basic patterns, we will participate in games and relays using the cups, plus have a single elimination tournament.
