As math teachers, we rely on being able to demonstrate process and solutions for problems, comparisons, and equations. It is very difficult for our students to see our at-home whiteboards on their computer screens. Document cameras would allow our students to see us demonstrate problem solving up close.
After instruction, students need to practice on their own, but they also need help from the teacher about specific questions. We can also make the virtual learning more one on one, by helping one student at a time when needed.
Document cameras will really help bring the in-class experience of learning math to the virtual world!
