With all the hands-on work we do in our classroom (including eating both breakfast and lunch in our classroom as a group), things can get messy pretty quickly. You can imagine how many germs are lurking in things we use daily, like my students' favorite MagnaTiles! Especially in the winter, my students have trouble staying completely germ free. They are still learning how to independently complete basic skills such as hand washing, wiping their own runny noses, and using the bathroom by themselves. Many of my students also have health complications such as asthma and allergies. We have some limited hygiene items supplied by the school and our custodial team does their best to keep our huge building clean, but our Pre-K classroom really needs cleaning multiple times daily and hand sanitizing materials appropriate for our students -- like wipes that we can easily assist students in using vs. hand sanitizer that doesn't get effectively rubbed in.
