I work with special education students with a wide range of disabilities in a small counseling or social skills group setting. Even with 4 feet of space provided between us in my small office, the more significantly disabled students struggle with maintaining the use of face masks, keeping their portable school-provided cardboard desk shields in place (falling off of the desks), and with maintaining personal space.
A floor standing sneeze guard would provide all of us with increased safety, security and peace of mind in the public school setting during a pandemic while these students learn such vital life skills to function socially and in the world.
Unfortunately, my school district does not have the funds to provide this type of shield to me.
