My bilingual students have difficulties specific to communication - speaking (speech sounds, vocabulary and sentence structure), listening (comprehension) and understanding as well as using social language (pragmatics!). Many of my students speak and hear both Spanish and English throughout their day, and so they need materials in BOTH languages to work on their communication skills. Most of my students are visually driven - in order to understand language, they often need visual supports (pictures, graphs, even puzzles!) to accompany their learning. I have a mini classroom full of physical materials with great visuals, but now with remote learning, I lack the online materials needed to ensure their success.
My students with various communication disorders will use these digital Spanish and English materials with me in speech and language teletherapy from their homes. These materials will allow my students to engage in teletherapy - in short, teletherapy will be interactive and fun, not stagnant and boring! Thank you so much for considering.
