Students were unexpectedly thrust into a new environment, school at home, with no preparation or notice. With the new school year having started they are adjusting to what is the "new normal," but that doesn't mean it's forever. The Chromebook tablet will allow the students to have a more immersive experience while distance learning by allowing me to teach around my room and giving the students an authentic classroom experience. It will also allow me to better communicate with my students as well as allow them to use the tablet for STEM apps when they return to school.
Our school's goal is still to eventually get the students back in school once it's safe to do so. When they come back, I will have flexible seating available for them in the form of wobble cushions. Plastic chairs can become uncomfortable so I know they would love to have wobble cushions available for their comfort and also for those kids who tend to want to move around often. Additionally, I teach science and writing and I am going to need a ton of paper for all of their scientific observations and notes, especially for 109 students.
