My students with behavior issues help me write behavior contracts that help them be successful in their academic classrooms. Something as simple as a bag of chips at the end of a good day or week can be a game changer for the student and for their teachers. Because the majority of my students do not have funds for common fun snacks, treats as an incentive are serious motivators. In the end, the student is focused in class, and the teacher can spend more time on instruction versus managing behavior.
