Students continue to experience childhood trauma. As a school psychologist, I want to ensure that every student at every grade level has access to a wide range of tools and strategies to begin self-regulation from the time they enter elementary school.
When students are able to monitor and regulate their emotions, they are more likely to have better achievement, behavior, and overall mental health. This project will allow me to create a major aspect of peace corners for every classroom (TK-5th grade): baskets with a variety of sensory objects to support emotional regulation.
