Our Freshman program, Freshmen P.R.I.D.E, focuses on being a support system for our students as they maneuver through the remote learning process. With our program entitled P.R.I.D.E. (Purposeful and Respectful with Integrity and Dedication to Excellence), we want to motivate our students to show up for class and to turn in assignments by rewaring our Freshmen for their positive and appropriate approach to academic, behavior and attendance expectations during this unprecedented time. The items we would like to reward them with are things that would help them with virtual classes. We choose items like Blue llight glasses to protect their eyes, earplugs because there could be multiple children in the home and this would allow them to still hear their teachers during instruction. Exercise is still very important, so the fanny packs will help hold items as they exercise.
By recognizing the successes of our students, they will become motivated to become productive and contributing citizens in our community who have proven their resilience during the most challenging of times. Our P.R.I.D.E. goals are to increase class attendance and academic success while increasing a more positive and appropriate approach to learning.
