We are teaching during an unprecedented time, and these books would help to engage and connect all children in my class whether they are working from home or in the classroom. Distance learning will present exciting new opportunities to think outside of the box for instruction.
Diverse picture books will help my students to feel more connected to the literature that we use in our lessons, and to create rich collaboration between children at home and those working in the school building. It is so important to have representation in my classroom library so that all children feel valued and can learn about the world.
