It’s no secret that reading leads to better outcomes for ALL students. Building a strong classroom library enables students to access a variety of materials that will engage every reader at every level and extend to a variety of interests. Students will be able to access quality reading material relevant to the twenty-first century which will enhance and encourage learners in numerous ways. These books will serve as anchor text in classroom instruction as well as provide an opportunity for students to engage in casual reading activities outside of the classroom. In addition, it will help students develop and refine literacy skills and strategies which will serve them for their entire lives.
