The Other Wes Moore, is a wonderful story about two men with the same name who have two very different fates. The students will read and engage in the story. As they go a long they will see how their lives are similar and how different choices and certain crossroads can mean very different things for the future. My students are a lot like both men in this book and I want them to see that it doesn't matter where you come from, you can end up anywhere you want, both good and bad. The goal would be for the students to then write their own story, and give it the outcome they hope to have when they leave high school.
