We will use our reading sacks to have DEAR time (drop everything and read) where we will have personal books, RED reading folders and flashcards of sight words that we are working on. We will also have a special whiteboard and marker to work on writing words. Good readers need opportunities to practice reading skills often. We will take every opportunity in the classroom to learn these skills to help us love being readers. This will also help teach my students to be independent so they can easily get to reading items without having to go through their cubby to try to find items quickly.
