Technology has really helped my students connect the classroom to real life. By working on a student newscast, students will learn a variety of skills that are targeted to state standards. Multiple academic standards are addressed when creating a newscast-- students need to use reading, writing, speaking, and cooperation skills. They also learn valuable technical skills that prepare them for the careers of the future and have fun while learning. I've used green screens to teach students about source citations, and robots to teach about research skills. A newscast will help students learn even more skills!
