I hear too often, "I hate math." This is a quote I work very hard to understand when students say this to me. The first 10 minutes of class is crucial; it is when you have the students' attention. These books are the perfect way to start a math class. Students of all levels enjoy being read to. It will take the stress out of the beginning of math class while introducing the math topic through literature. Our students need to truly understand the purpose of place value and all math concepts and not just memorize math routines. These books will bring math to life and help our students understand the meaning behind the numbers.
