Books are an important of our day. We use them as a way to build vocabulary, build reading skills, and also to support comprehension. Additionally good books open a world of possibilities and can foster a lifetime love of reading
New books provides new adventures and my students are so deserving of them. My students live in a community that is challenged by poverty. However the right classroom atmosphere can instill the understanding that we don't have to be limited by our background. I use books as a way to create that atmosphere. A good book can impact students in a way that cannot be quantified.
