Every child deserves a voice. The materials included in my project will allow exceptional children with extensive communication needs better access their education by enhancing their functional communication and sensory processing abilities. Whether kiddos are participating in an onsite or virtual learning environment, the ability to communicate their wants, needs, and ideas to those in their life is crucial. Materials like the GoTalk 4+ and Talking Brix Communicators will give a voice to a nonverbal child, allowing them to make requests, express ideas, and participate in classroom activities. Sensory items allow students to focus, as well as decrease anxiety so they can communicate and learn. Developing functional communication skills is vital for all students.
