In the world of virtual education, we know there are many challenged educators, students and even families are facing. With this donation you can help remove one of the biggest challenges my class is facing.
In the classroom it is much easier to engage students and to provide access to the materials being presented to them compared to virtual learning. We have giant whiteboards on the wall and huge chart paper to draw on during carpet time. During virtual teaching we have Zoom with screen sharing and powerpoints. I will be the first to admit I never imagined myself teaching first grade from a powerpoint but here we are. Now I have a mini white board I teach off of which is held up to the camera but as you can imagine this is very difficult for students to see. Therefore, it is nearly impossible to expect students to engage in the lesson or discourse.
With this iPad and Apple Pencil, I will be able to use it as a second account in my Zoom classes to write directly onto as if it was a whiteboard in the classroom. Everything I write will be projected to the student in real time on their iPads so they can follow along. This will eliminate huge barriers my students are facing during all their math lessons by providing access to the lessons for every student!
