The lessons that will be taught on and off the court will be useful for my students in their current and future academic settings. They will also be useful in life in general. Through the sport of basketball myself and my coaching staff have been able to discuss cultural disparities, civil rights, and general accountability for their actions.
We use the game of basketball to educate our students and connect to our students a number of ways. The discussions we have during our practices are some of the only open conversations that my students are able to take part in. We push make them fully aware that sports and academics are linked and that they can use the sport to pay for their academics.
About my class
