My students are Deaf and Hard of Hearing. We are doing a hybrid in person at school and remote. My students are so excited to see each other and communicate but have limited interactions and cannot share items. I want to give them many opportunities to have sensory breaks. They will keep those hands moving even while we have down time, using fidget spinners, fidget cubes, Legos, string balls, and wacky tracks .
Music is something my students look forward to because our music therapist allows them to feel and experience instruments. This is not possible now, so I want to give them their own instruments like bells and rhythm sticks to use and have so music accessible to them.
When we go outside, I would like my students to have activities they can do while socially distancing but together. They can play paddleball, parachute people, exploring their environment with magnifying glasses and binoculars.
