The sensory toys, blankets and puzzles will give students tools to help them self-regulate and manage their emotions. These tools will provide students with a way to use their energy in a positive productive way while playing and creating with the sensory toys. The books on my list will allow students the opportunity to relate to characters who experience some of the same emotions they feel, such as being shy, afraid or impulsive. Several books I chose show a person's ability to overcome obstacles such as a physical disability or prejudice. The balance ball, scooter and velcro toys will help students improve students' strength and instability, burn excess energy and reduce fidgeting.
