Historical fiction picture books will help my students to understand events in history. Historical fiction will take my students places they couldn't otherwise go to. These books will foster a love of the historical fiction genre. It will also teach my students about diversity and the importance of being kind. By reading historical fiction picture books, my students will learn about the events of the time period. In turn, they will be able to write their own historical fiction stories. They will have the knowledge of the events and have fun creating their own characters in different time periods in history. The donations to this project will help to improve my students' understanding of and competency in authentic, meaningful writing.
