In the autistic learning environment, we like to participate in activities that encourages sensory develop. With many of the hands on activities that we complete, students often end of up messy. Most of them enjoy the activities but not the messy environment. Since our students are from low income families, their parents are unable to send additional school appropriate clothing. With the washer and dryer, we would able to send our students home in freshly washed clothing. This would also be less of a burden to their parents.
When providing instructional experiences we want to ensure that we are regulating their sensory needs. My students enjoy new experiences. I would like to accommodate their needs as much as possible.
