I have 19 first graders this year! With the pandemic, we need to do our best to distance as much as we can. We use our carpet a lot throughout the day. We lose important learning time because sometimes the children sit too close or sit in someone else's spot so we have to use our time working those problems out before we can learn.
Right now, all of my student's aren't able to sit comfortably with space between them on the carpet. We need to be able to do that so we can learn to our full potential and follow social distancing guidelines.
I would like a rug that has squares so each of my students have a square of their very own. They could have plenty of space without touching the child next to them. They could sit on the same square each time we come together on the carpet. This would allow us to get started quickly on our lesson and provide good distance between the students.
