Though we are learning remotely, my students love activities that deal with STEM. Our school has adopted the "CGI" approach. CGI stands for Cognitively Guided Instruction. We use the Jamboard to discuss and solve math problems to help facilitate class discussion.
Eventually we will be returning to a hybrid classroom and an extra iPad is necessary to continue small group instruction during our math block. Students can use virtual manipulatives, visit math sites, prepare math presentations and solve problems. The protective case is necessary to store and use for years to come.
