I need to get my kids off the screen but still have them come back when I need them. There are already so many moving parts to a classroom, and managing those parts remotely requires different tools. The kids need to be able to set their timer for their work time so that they can work where they want and still know when it's time to come back. They also need to be able to set concrete goals for work stamina. They are working so hard, but I can see many of them fading as the day goes on. I want to work with them on setting their own goals for the amount of time they work before they take a break and using timers to do that. Having a finite amount of time that they can see can be so motivating. I want online school to feel manageable and achievable so that they keep loving it and don't get burnt out.
