Having this class set of books will make a huge impact in my students ability to have learning materials at home during remote learning. We don't have a school library and very few sets of novels that we can all read together.
This book will be used in a unit on Space and modern United States history. We will read the book as a class and study racial and social justice issues in America.
The students will also continue to learn more about NASA and space. This group of students has shown a particular interest in racial inequality, and social justice issues. This novel will lead to great classroom discussions.
