During these times of COVID-19, we are all being extra careful while teaching our students in person. I've noticed that having a mask on in my Physical Education class makes it very difficult for my students to understand me; especially when they're spaced 12 ft apart in a large gymnasium. They can't see my mouth moving, and my voice is not able to project. Having a voice amplifier would definitely solve this problem.
Along with this theme of effective communication is utilizing a lot of visual aides. Having clear pocket inserts will allow me to easily change signs for each lesson, plus I can sanitize them in between classes. Many of my students are still learning English, so the more visual aides the better!
These clear pocket holders will also be a great way for students to engage with written work without the use of paper. They can easily be sanitized and wiped down before the next student uses them.
To further help my classes be more engaging I am requesting an arm phone holder. I use music in every class and it is very frustrating to rummage through my pockets while walking through the gym to change the music. Having it on my arm would make things more efficient and effective; especially for freeze dance. It doesn't matter if students are kindergarteners or 5th graders... they all love freeze dance! It's a great cardio workout too!
