Many students have a lot of distractions when learning from a distance. Often, there are more than one student trying to learn in a household, creating a lot of extra noise. By having their own ear buds, students will be able to hear the teacher and their peers better, and will be heard better when they are participating. Third grade is a pivotal time for reading development, which requires practice and one-on-one lessons with the teacher. When a student is able to use ear buds to read aloud to their peer and their teacher, their reading skills are able to develop more efficiently.
