For most of our students, this is their first experience with school. We are hoping to make art more of a hands on, interesting subject, closer to what they would be experiencing if we were not in distance learning. Our art curriculum includes teaching students about the elements of art. The colored pencils could be used by themselves or with the crayons that they already have, to explore and create with varied mediums.
We can greatly expand their knowledge of art and widen their use of materials, if they were to have colored pencils with which to explore and experiment.
