My goal is to help each of my students to become life-long readers. I'm building a classroom library with a variety of genres, reading levels, and areas of interest so that every one of my students can find a "just-right" book, a book they are able to read and WANT to read. The more they read, the stronger they will become as readers and the more they will love to read. Their fluency and comprehension will improve. We will use them in our guided reading books to learn about story elements, reading strategies, writing concepts, and to learn how to write by reading mentor texts. Reading allows them to see others' points of view and experiences. Students will be able to borrow the books to read in class and at home.
