I’m a brand new kindergarten teacher and LOVE teaching! I accepted a teaching position at a title one, high poverty school and can’t imagine working anywhere else! Imagine going to work and actually KNOWING daily that you are making a difference...it’s just the best! I’m in a classroom that I’ve completely had to redo and have spent so much of my own money on making it a fun learning environment for the children. There were things that were left in the classroom for me and what I am missing, I’ve been able to purchase, find or borrow much of it. The BIG thing that I’m missing, though, is a classroom seating rug. There’s NO WAY I could ever afford to buy this on my own. And a classroom seating rug is a MUST HAVE for any kindergarten classroom! It’s a place where they can sit and learn together. It’s also a place where I can sit and read to them from my rocking chair.
Right now with COVID, all of this has changed. There is not a rug big enough for them to sit six feet apart on. They have to sit in their desks all day and it’s so hard on these kids that are meant to move! HOWEVER, one day, COVID will be OVER and I want to be prepared with a nice new rug for them to sit on!
The rug needs to be big enough to accommodate up to twenty students because that’s how many children I can teach in my classroom. I love this rug I’ve picked out because it has roomy sit spots and goes with my classroom color theme. Thanks so much for helping me and my students!
