We are currently an open concept school. Our classrooms are divided by partial walls. For students with cognitive and academic disabilities, this type of learning environment can be a disadvantage when they are required to concentrate. This becomes even more complicated when the student is also faced with a diagnosis of Dyslexia, Autism, or ADHD.
I would like to provide an equitable opportunity for my student to learn and demonstrate their learning by reducing the distraction around them. These earmuffs will ensure they are given an opportunity to perform to the best of their ability when they are taking assessments or working on independent tasks.
