Can you imagine a drawing that leaps off the page and comes to life? That is exactly what kindergartner students will experience when you fund an artist to stitch together their drawings into a stuffed animal!
When you open the opportunity for drawings to come to life, you will put students in the drivers seat as they experience the important role artists play in designing our world, even the toys that we snuggle! The design process has already begun with kindergartners who investigated stuffed animals in real life. These student artists completed observational drawings of stuffed animals to practice the building blocks of art-making (such as line, shape, color, and texture).
Now, students are sharing ideas with each other about what would make the best stuffed animal. They will draw a creature from their imagination and present their drawings to their peers during our live art class on Google meets. With feedback from peers, students will revise their drawing before they are sent to an artist from Etsy
Your financial support will pay Etsy artists to follow the student's design and stitch together a stuffed animal that matches what the kindergartner drew. As we say in kindergarten, their "flat" drawing will become a stuffed animal that has "form". Student's are thrilled to be part of this creative process and cannot wait to see their drawings come to life!
At the end of this project, kindergartner's will understand the design cycle, initiate imaginative play with their art that has come to life, and cherish a stuffed animal to snuggle during the challenging days of distance learning. Thank you for your investment in our Sullivan kindergartner artists!
