Teaching during a pandemic has changed the way almost all of our interactions in class take place. Students are no longer able to move to interact with each other in small groups or able to work at the whiteboard as easily without risk of exposure to germs. Many students have even chosen the option of virtual learning to avoid this risk. This makes for a difficult environment to teach and learn.
The tools and applications accessible on the iPad requested would enhance instruction for both the face to face learners as well as the virtual learners. The purchase would allow me the ability to perform step by step modeling for students in an easily shareable format (for virtual learners), while the apple tv device allows it to be presented live in class and allows that interactive piece much like the whiteboard presenting (for face to face learners). This project would make creating instructional videos that closely match the face to face instruction easily possible, making learning for students who are absent, quarantined or learning from home more feasible and accessible.
Overall, the iPads would impact both students in and out of class, especially helping virtually deliver mathematic instruction that closely resembles that of our face to face learning as well as creating a more interactive and engaging experience for face to face learners.
By donating to this project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
